We all know that exercise is good for us (obviously). But there’s more to exercising than just losing weight or staying physically fit. When you’re regularly exercising, the benefits go beyond weight management.
Boost Your Energy
Do you get easily winded from doing household chores or climbing up a flight of stairs? Well, here’s another reason why you should be exercising regularly! Regular amounts of exercise helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your heart and lungs work more efficiently. This in turn helps improve muscle strength, and most importantly, your endurance. When your endurance increases, you’ll have more energy to tackle the day!
Improve Your Mood
We have those days where we just feel completely off or down in the dumps, or just simply irritated. Doing a gym session or going for a brisk walk can help pull you out of those moods. Physical activity stimulates brain chemicals, like endorphins, that trigger positive feelings. Exercising regularly can LITERALLY make you feel better.
Promote Better Sleep
Do you have trouble falling asleep? Do you deal with chronic insomnia? Some studies have shown that regular exercise can help you fall asleep faster, sleep better, and even deepen your sleep. Just be sure to not exercise close to bedtime or you may be too pumped to fall asleep.
Feel More Productive
Need a little boost of inspiration? A brief walk or jog can probably help pull you out of the pit! Researchers have found that people who take time to exercise on a regular basis are more productive and have more energy than people who don’t.
Sharpen Your Memory
Regular exercise has shown to boost memory skills and your ability to learn new things. How? Physical activity apparently increases the production of cells in your hippocampus (which is the part of your brain that deals with memory and learning). Now you have even more of a reason to go on those morning walks!
