Why You Should Start Getting Up Earlier + Tips!

Calling all late-risers! Don’t look away from this just yet! You’re really going to want to hear this…

Having days where I get to sleep in are always nice. However, I seem to always find myself having much better days when I get up early. There’s no rushing and scrambling to get out of the door. I can enjoy a full, hot cooked breakfast and not just a hot pocket or something I threw in the microwave. I love the time I have to myself in the morning before I have to get out and actually start my day. And I’m not saying that you need to be waking up at 6am everyday, but waking up relatively early can really benefit you!

One of the reasons why I love waking up early is that I find my days to be a lot more productive. It’s probably because I’m able to have hours to prep for the day.

Like I said before, I’m not scrambling to get out of the house and I’m actually able to cook a nice, substantial breakfast for myself. Other than that though, I’m able to fit in time for exercise, which also really helps start off my days on a good note. I get to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and read my emails and news. Most importantly though, I have the morning to think about what I’m going to do that day, and it makes me feel really good about my day overall.

There are too many benefits to not want to start your day early. So if you’re considering making the change, here are some tips that have helped me and can for sure help you!

-Stop staying up so late! You don’t need to make a drastic change, but try going to sleep earlier, whether it’s an hour earlier or even 15 minutes earlier.

-Put your phone or whatever you use for an alarm clock out of reach. You’ll be less tempted to hit the snooze button and fall back asleep 5 times.

-Immediately get out of bed when you’re alarm goes off. Some people have a tendency to get on their phone right after waking up and waste time scrolling through social media in bed.

-Have a good reason for wanting to get up early. A hot breakfast sounds really yummy, you want to get a good workout in, etc. When you have a reason to get out of bed, you’re more likely going to want to start your day early!
